BRIEF:
Behold the birth of the Climate Responsive Design Course – an initiative igniting a dynamic platform for global collaboration, knowledge sharing, and transformative design thinking. It’s not just a call to action; it’s a rallying cry for a sustainable and harmonious urban future.
Globally, cities teeter on the brink, grappling with the critical impact of climate change and relentless flooding and drought that jeopardise people, infrastructure, economies, housing, and health. Urgency demands a collective response – a triad of action, reaction, and reflection. We must collaboratively combat the challenges faced by cities in both present and future scenarios.
A unified platform is imperative, fostering collective thought, discussion, and innovative design solutions. Enter the realm of collective speculative designs, envisioning “what if” scenarios intricately woven with considerations of place, climate, culture, context, and materials. The culmination of these visionary ideas deserves a global stage through exhibitions and publications, aiming to not only educate but empower, contributing to collective resilience.
